Violent threats from males against females seem alright with these politicians. 😡

No idea how it is ok to joke about violence against women than say a black person. If you made that one change then there would be quite rightly an outcry but as it is directed at women it is just a joke.

As for the MSP’s not having eyes in their back of their heads, now that they are aware why don’t they condemn it?

EasterIsland · 22/01/2023 12:53

JackieDaws · 22/01/2023 11:15

According to someone on Twitter, it was just a joke and we all need to calm down because socialists are nice people. Said the TIM with a Che Guevara userpic.

I assume those are just Russian bots. Because who is that stupid IRL?

EasterIsland · 22/01/2023 13:33

I notice that several TRA/MRA apologists are missing from this thread, apologising for the incitements to violence of their comrades.

Cat got their tongues?

Cat got their tongues?

Just waiting for the DARVO party line.

It's not a hate crime, but it is a "hate incident" - because if I recall correctly the Scottish police basically include anything that anyone finds remotely unpleasant in that category. Surely even if the victims of the unpleasantness are only women? So they should talk to those holding the signs, and the hate incident should go on their record.

Myotherpetisamouse · 22/01/2023 20:44

It’s a hate crime if you are a gender critical Christian, but the SG has no concern for faith groups.

Rainbowshit · 23/01/2023 07:45

Jeez, they really have lost the pot.

If it is a public order offence then it is also a hate crime not an incident.

It was Patrick Harriet who complained about a Christian group hiring GECC so GCC cancelled their booking, which resulted in GCC being found guilty of discrimination and ordered to pay over £100,000 in compensation.

As I understand it, only crimes which are motivated by one of a small number of protected characteristics, eg race, are raised to the status of "hate crimes". Sex is a protected characteristic, but is not in that group of protected characteristics which enjoy this extra protection.

arethereanyleftatall · 23/01/2023 09:31

If one can detach themselves emotionally from this (I can't), it's actual fascinating, from a human behaviour perspective.

One side is allowed to have their feelings prioritised and anyone who dares speak against them, however calmly and rationally, this side are permitted to abuse, bully, threaten and shout louder.

The other sides feelings do not matter whatsoever, and anyone attempt to debate is shouted down.

The second side must believe what the first side believes, and if they don't, they're bigots, yet bizarrely the first side not tolerating the second sides pov is not bigoted at all.

It has opened everyone's eyes completely to how men are absolutely on a pedestal in current society compared to women.

Until the hate crimes bill is enacted, for something to be a hate crime there must be a crime first. In this case a public order offence (I would also suggest domestic terrorism). ‘Hate’ only comes in the sentencing though it is argued here that ‘religion’ may cover belief.

Spring23 · 23/01/2023 11:20

Got to wonder about politicians who lack the political aptitude to look behind them when posing for protest selfies.

frotthle · 23/01/2023 11:22

If the sign read decapitate any other group there would be outrage… pisses me right off

annabelindajane · 23/01/2023 15:17

I don’t support independence and certainly would never while the present incumbents hold power but occasionally check in on Wings Over Scotland . Head over there today ladies and find out who really is behind all this . As they say “ enjoy” a great bit of investigative journalism .

The piece by Wings is outstanding -

Many MSP's applauded these fuckers after the GRR vote.

Quite agree, it’s misogyny writ large

Why isn’t this in MSM in Scotland? They all read Wings. Alex Cole Hamilton saying that it was for Douglas personally that MSPs had pushed this bill through . Here is a classic example in “ Beth” of why the GRR bill needs to be amended. SNP so desperate for votes they throw women under the bus .

Waitwhat23 · 24/01/2023 12:27

MSP's are having wee snits to themselves - Euan Yours having an online tantrum with Emma Roddick popping up to have her head patted -

Just looked at the Scotsman website and one of the first articles on the home page is a claim that 'hate crimes' against transgender people are rising. Nothing about threats to decapitate women (apart from Nicola's mealy mouthed apology).

Workerbeep · 24/01/2023 13:57

apparently at the same demonstration there a sign in Gaelic which is now being investigated by police scotland.

I am truly shocked that politicians are still ok with this whole situation.

where are the details of all these hate crimes towards transgenders? If it’s misgendering or saying ‘a woman is an adult female’ then anyone sensible can engage their critical thinking and realise but these are not comparable.

do you think it’s a case of…we've have gone so far down this road, proudly pinned their medals to their chest and been so convinced of the righteous of their argument, that to say ‘I was wrong’ is the one thing they cannot admit as they would lose so much standing within their circles and career.

Waitwhat23 · 24/01/2023 13:58

'Why have no MSP's made comments to distance themselves?'

I believe Murdo Fraser MSP has officially reported it to the police, so it can’t just be swept under the carpet. Mind you, the police are in the SNP’s pocket, so I’m not holding my breath for charges to be brought…

Beefcurtains79 · 24/01/2023 16:03

Wonder if Nicola and cronies will comment on this thing that never happens?
