Question for primary school teachers

My eldest is in p2 and loving school, this year he has a teacher in her probation year plus another teacher twice a week. They both seem lovely and enthusiastic.
My question is about positioning of children in the classroom. There are 3 rows of children, the children in the rows never change and the rows never change position which means my son (and his row-mates) are always in the back row during listening and discussion time.
I didn't really think about it until my son said that he feels the children in the front row get to talk to the teacher more.
So I'm wondering why the rows aren't rotated so each child gets a chance of being at the front?
I know they aren't rotated from various photos and videos since august rather than just my 6yo's word 😁
I don't think it's a huge issue and will just encourage my son to put his hand up if he wants to ask something. Just curious about it really.

Talk to the teacher - mine usually get moved about from time to time but there's no fixed answer.

There will probably be reasons. For instance my son sits at the front in his classes as he has dyspraxia and sensory processing disorder so can get more fidgety when distracted which happens more if he can see everyone else in the class moving around, talking etc. He also has intermittent hearing issues so needs to be at the front to hear better. Maybe some kids struggle to remain focused so sit at the front to help the teacher keep them on task?

I'd imagine that some children in the front need to be there for medical reasons eg a child with hearing issues needs to be able to at the front so that they can hear more easily or a child with ADHD might concentrate better when there isn't children between them and the teacher.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I'll just encourage DS to speak up a bit if he has something to ask the teacher.

Mine seemed to get moved every half term. It a always an exciting time as a chance they may end up next to or on the same table as a friend!
