Queen’s route through Edinburgh

Does anyone know the exact route of the Queens cortège through Edinburgh? Is it listed somewhere? I checked online but couldn’t see it. I live here and could probably walk to somewhere where I can pay respects. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. I used to live in Castle Terrace so I think I will go there because of sentimental reasons. I'm going to try and get to St. Giles tomorrow as well. I hope everyone of you gets an opportunity to see her.

It's a major route so I'd imagine it will be a rolling stop for traffic, rather than close the bridge.

Yes :)

Just back from Edinburgh, it was HEAVING. 6 deep on the Royal Mile.

Very glad we went.

I’m glad we went to Castle Terrace as well. It was a great turn out for the Queen and very special. There we bumped into an old neighbour who told my DCs about going to school in Glasgow and finding out George VI had died on those newspaper headline things they had in the street. She’s just turned 82.

I was at Johnstone Terrace, only two deep at most. Atmosphere was chatty and respectful but not at all sombre as some would have us believe.

Chatty but respectful sums up my experience on the Royal Mile too. Most of the people round us were Scottish, few from NE England - heard a few Newcastle accents. Everyone chatting until we saw the police outrider then fell silent until the cortege had passed.

When it was happening I happened to stop by a group of teenagers plotting to dash eggs off the funeral car, luckily I stepped in quickly and stopped them before the motorcade passed by!
I saved the queen, not god!
