Anyone else going this morning?

Did you go @Cactus720 ?
I thought it was a great turnout and some excellent speeches. ⭐

Yes. Good speeches and atmosphere. But the whole thing is so depressing. A small group of people doing what they want at the expense of the majority of the population. The political process in Scotland feels very corrupt.

JK Rowling obviously made a considered decision to use her celebrity status to shed some light on what Nicola Sturgeon is doing, on the day of the Edinburgh rally.

Yes it does feel very undemocratic and rigged. Especially since the Bill was already finalised well before the empty gestures of 'consulting' with women's groups at the last minute.
Not how I expect an elected government to behave.

But we will continue to turn public opinion and we're not going to shut up and go away. There are still other avenues that we can use even if the Bill goes through without any amendments.

Thank you for this, it’s an excellent way to find out who is supposed to be working for us.

27th October is the date of the reading in the Scottish Parliament.
I have had one non automated reply so far . Not very good , is it ?

RhannionKPSS · 15/10/2022 23:01

Jeremy Balfour is excellent, he was at the rally and happy to listen to women.

RhannionKPSS · 15/10/2022 23:03

The public gallery at the Scottish Parliament will be open that day...

I've had no replies (apart from automated 'we'll get back to you' blah) at all. It's deeply unimpressive behaviour from elected representatives.

RhannionKPSS · 15/10/2022 23:26

I know, it’s appalling they work for us & they are meant to be accountable to us. Keep at it please, I know it’s crap , but don’t give them the chance to say “ we didn’t know”
