Sheriff Court - find out sentence?

Abusive ExH has a criminal court case at local Sheriff Court tomorrow. Found out by searching the court rolls, which I do sporadically as I know he has had a case ongoing since 2021. From the little I hear from the ex ILs, it keeps getting bounced back for references or he makes excuses not to show up...and so it drags on.

Anyway, assuming he turns up tomorrow, is there any way I can find out what happens with the case? I don't know if the court is open to public but even if it was, I wouldn't be comfortable in that close a contact to him. But I would love to have the relief of knowing he was put away and not living in my town anymore.
I'm not a victim of this specific case so I can't find out via those channels.
Last time he was called up on this case, I phoned the court and asked for info but they said as it was a closed court due to covid, it wasn't public information and couldn't tell me anything.

Anyone have any knowledge of the court system and how/if I can get any info?

Some local papers report court judgements.

I’ve not bought it in years but is the Digger still going? That often reported on verdicts

Is it the sentencing hearing tomorrow?

If it is just a pre-trial hearing or the actual trial, then the sentencing may not take place. If there is a chance of a custodial sentence, then they must prepare pre-sentencing reports (a social worker will interview him and gather any necessary evidence). The social worker's report will recommend custodial or alternative sentence but the court makes the final decision. That process will take a couple months so the sentencing hearing could be a while away.

If there isn't a chance of custodial sentence then he could be sentenced tomorrow.
