Does anyone happen to know if a part time contract is available or if it's only full time, as a permanent supply teacher with Stirling?

I've only ever heard of this being full time. The idea behind it (well pre Covid) was that you were appointed to permanent supply and could be sent anywhere as required for year one. Year two permanent to a learning community (cluster of feeder primaries for one one the 7 secondaries) still could be moved around within this as required. Year 3 permanent within a school from the learning community that you were part of the previous year.

For part time that might mean the school struggling to recruit a potential job share partner.

My friend was granted permanency due to length of unbroken service - part time. She was then bounced around for years as no HT wanted to risk struggling with the 0.4 vacancy she created. It went on until her DC were if an age that she felt happy to go full time.

Note of caution though - that was BC. At the moment those appointed permanent supply in spring 2020 are still being passed around like joints and don't know about next school year yet.

Thanks Lidl. I was hoping there might be the opportunity for perm supply being used as the maternity cover of a part time teacher, for example. But, the form does say full time and then, would you be willing to take on a full time role until a job share comes up? It does seem unlikely I'll be offered PT. I've filled out half of the form and I'm not sure if there's much point doing it all as it's highly likely I'll just be rejected.
There were part time ASN roles at Callander and Wallace and I really wish I'd applied. Nevermind.
Thanks for the info. Smile

I know I'm Edinburgh they have been recruiting for permanent and temporary teachers centrally and you get matched with a school. So our maternity cover was matched to the Covid recovery teacher who was able to start when she was needed. So it's not the individual schools doing it.
