Still plenty to chat about. Remember this isn't fight club. Nice chatting required..... Grin

Sometimes it takes longer to get them dressed in Winter than they spend outside.

ElephantOfRisk · 19/01/2022 12:41

Having two a year apart (and folks with twins or other small gaps will also appreciate), it was exhausting trying to get them organised and out in winter. Between getting boots or shoes laced up (velcro not as common back then) and the coats, gloves, scarfs and hats that they didn't want to put on as it was warm in the house so would be dragging them off while you were putting them on the other child, I would be a sweaty mess before we got out anywhere.

When they got old enough to understand/help or do it themselves it was a weight off. That an when they didn't need car seats anymore were major milestones!

Urgh have had my mask on all morning at work and now have a thumping head ache right in time for my lunch break. Horrible

I can imagine, it's helpful that ds1 can sort himself out with a little lot nagging.

GrouchyKiwi · 20/01/2022 18:48

Somehow we've run out of instant coffee, which I need in the afternoons since I can't be doing with the faff of cleaning out the cafetiere (DH makes the coffee in the morning). I found some coffee bags in the cupboard that had been sent as samples - like teabags, but for coffee - and reader, I do NOT recommend them. Steer clear of random samples you discover lurking in your cupboard.

My DC's first teacher was one of those old school P1 types and I used to marvel when all 25 of them came out at a rainy/snowy home time and every single one was buttoned, zipped, hood up, boots on. 25 of them. I had 3 and it was a fight on a cold day.

That's impressive. Ds1 comes out completely disheveled, carrying various things (rather than having them in his bag), jacket unzipped etc Grin

A miracle worker.

Has @ssd been back? Hope she's ok.

shouldistop · 21/01/2022 10:00

I'm loving this patch of dry weather we're having here, it's really making me look forward to spring.
Now toddler ds is up and running I'm really having to tire him out. Going to take him to soft-play once he's up from his morning nap.
I can't wait til he reliably drops down to one nap, he's a bit all over the place with naps just now so it's hard to plan stuff.

ecceromani · 21/01/2022 11:10

@shouldistop

Has *@ssd* been back? Hope she's ok.
I've been thinking about *@ssd* too Hoping everything's ok and she's just taking a break from sm
Haudyourwheesht · 21/01/2022 21:14

Another one just checking in on SSD. I always identified with her as I also get public transport, although I think you have a much harder time working in retail. Hoping she's just name changed!

ElephantOfRisk · 21/01/2022 21:32

@ssd provided some incredible support to me when I was off sick, I hope she's just having a wee break and will be back soon.

No posts since 4th January as far as I can see.

Hi, sorry ive not been here in a while. I got suspended because i broke the rules, but i didn't actually know what I'd done wrong. I didnt insult anyone or be horrible but someone started a thread in the covid bit that to me was so far fetched and ridiculous i said that i didn't believe it was real and i got logged out like within half an hour. I didn't realise that was trolling or troll hunting or whatever its called. Usually if i see a dodgy thread or post i report it to mn, but i didn't think this thread was dodgy, just unbelievable and because i said so i was taken off the air for a week, so to speak. And to be honest i know mn need to keep the rules and everything but i got a bit of a telling off like 'we've spoken to you before and we don't want to have to do it again ' and i just thought, christ there's worse than me here. And it made me realise too much of mn is annoying me so I'm better off away from it for a while. I just came back to post cos i didn't want you to wonder if I'd ran away or anything that exciting, I'm still here and reading stuff now and then but I'm sitting on my hands so i don't get involved in anything.

Hope you're all ok.

WouldBeGood · 22/01/2022 02:32

Oh, glad you’re ok @ssd, despite having been naughty! 😃

Groovee · 22/01/2022 07:01

Glad you are ok @ssd

ecceromani · 22/01/2022 07:36

Thanks for letting us know you're ok @ssd Turns out you've been on the naughty stepGrin
We were just wee bit concerned as know you struggle sometimes.
Take care and hope work is bit calmer now Christmas rush is over

Haudyourwheesht · 22/01/2022 09:56

I very rarely post anywhere other than Scotsnet. That way madness lies!

ElephantOfRisk · 22/01/2022 11:35

Good to see you are okay @ssd. I'll probably end up banned for this, but some of the moderator decisions are quite bizarre and I disagree with them and at times have just wanted to leave the whole place as it doesn't really align with what I want. I've really only stayed due to the virtual friends etc I feel I have in Scotsnet.

It might be an idea to link with someone on some other type of social media so we can still get messages to and from people here so we know where you are? If you are on FB I'd happily send you a link to me on private message. obviously don't want to intrude if you would rather keep your on-line life segmented or if there is someone else you'd rather link with Smile I promise I'm not a stalker and I do have a couple of people from here on my friends list.

I'm also missing Statisticallychallenged? And quite a few more but I've lost track of name changes in a few cases, ssd is just so easy to remember Smile

I only really got drawn in to scotsnet due to the railing threads, but it's now mostly the only section I look at. I like that there's a few different threads that I recognise the names on. It feels like a nice little corner of MN.

shouldistop · 22/01/2022 14:04

I was on an antenatal thread when pregnant with ds1 and we ended up making a private Facebook page on that we joined.
We could do that for Scotsnet blathering?

I let keep pondering coming off mn too

ElephantOfRisk · 22/01/2022 14:45

I'd be up for that @shouldistop :)

shouldistop · 22/01/2022 15:14

Group is completely private and hidden. Can only be joined using that link which will expire in 2 days or after 20 clicks (I can then make a new link if required).

ElephantOfRisk · 22/01/2022 15:26

I'm in! Grin
