People in certain areas and with certain issues have had great difficulty GETTING the vaccine even if they are happy to be vaccinated

This applies to me I’m getting my 1st one this week after MONTHS of chasing to get a home appointment due to health issues. And I’m sure I’m not the only person that applies to in fact I know I’m not from discussion in real life

Folk in rural parts of scotland have also had great difficulty getting vaccination sorted this is being completely ignored by Scots govt.

They estimate 88% are vaccinated (can’t tell if that’s one vaccine or full programme) so do they really think they can get the remaining 12% of the population fully covered in less than 3 weeks?!!

That seems insane to me

I also understand why businesses are concerned about the impact on them at a time of year when they were probably hoping to capitalise on a burgeoning Christmas inc in spending after a very tough 18 months or so.

Am I the only one concerned about this as I couldn’t see a thread elsewhere

I'm housebound & haven't been called to arrange my third dose despite receiving the letter 2 months ago. My GP's website states not to contact them about it, they will contact you. I had AZ so don't know what I will get.

I think it's absolutely shocking how we housebound patients have been treated throughout this.

Many housebound patients are also cev and yet have still had problems getting vaccinated as those organising the vaccination programmes seem largely oblivious to how housebound patients CAN'T simply rock up to a walk in centre!

Seems utterly bizarre to me how basics of how certain patients and communities are situated hasn't been taken into account

I have the greatest sympathy for both of you, and it’s shocking that you are struggling to get the vaccine, I’m not in Scotland so not sure what the new restrictions are. So forgive me, but why would they be an issue for housebound people?

Graphista · 17/11/2021 07:14

@Aposterhasnoname we still have contact with some people via deliveries etc so can still potentially be infected especially if living with people in eg customer facing retail roles

I appreciate that you're justifiably angry about your inability to get vaccinated, because it's important to protect you.

But I also don't see how that relates to vaccine passports. If you can't go out to get a vaccine then surely being banned from cinemas and restaurants wouldn't affect you.

If there are people who have really been unable to get vaccinated due to location then that's an issue - you'd expect that a place large enough to have a cinema should be able to support a pop up vaccine clinic.

Oh I get that, 100% there’s no doubt you should be able to get your vaccines, and it’s a disgrace that you can’t. But your OP seemed to be about vaccine passports being extended. I just don’t see how vaccine passports affect the housebound.
