Highlands to Edinburgh

I live in the middle of nowhere in the very North of Scotland and have barely ventured further than my local Coop since Covid hit, but next week I am going to Edinburgh for a much needed catch up with friends.
Can anyone tell me if I need a covid passport to go to the pub? I think we'll be going out for dinner and I've no idea what I need (other than a mask of course) and I feel a bit stupid for not knowing, it's making me quite anxious!

It will depend on the dates you travel but this document should help explain what is required:

If you're going to a nightclub or gig with over 500 capacity you'll need it. Check the websites of the bar(s) you're going to in case they are classed as nightclubs.

You don't need it for the pub (sit down drinks in a bar).

But I think you will need it for a nightclub (dance floor, loud music).

A lot of places are still needing to be prebooked just now, although more are starting to accept walk-ins.

Are you getting the train? There's no catering service on board so take food and drink with you.

Have a great time!

You'll be fine unless you plan on going clubbing. We went through a few weeks ago and walk ins were fine- places are only booked if they're very popular ( same as pre covid really). Things are pretty much back to normal, you just wear a mask walking to table / toilets. I hope you have a lovely trip!
