Places to eat with easy parking near Kelvingrove

Help me out Glasgow folks!
Dd and I are going for a mooch around Kelvingrove next week, and are looking for a good place to eat afterwards.
Any type of food is fine, we eat everything, doesn't need to be budget but not hugely expensive and also must be fine with casual dress, as in jeans/Converse.
The parking is the main thing, I don't mind paying for it, but it needs to be close and plentiful, I do have a blue badge if that helps.
Probably looking to eat at around 5ish, but that's not set in stone, in can be earlier, though not much later.
(Crabbshakk and Mother India both look good so far if that gives you an idea)

Have a look at Eusebi & Stravaigin. There’s on street parking (but can be busy). Also underground nearby if that’s an option.

Kelvingrove is on the doorstep of so many good places to eat. Finnieston is grub central. Usually parking available on Sauchiehall Street (around the Devoncove Hotel area). Regarding restaurants Crabbshakk and Mother India are both great, as is Rioja, Ox and Finch, Alchemilla, Gloriosa, Kelvingrove Café. Rich pickings in that part of town.

It needs to be car really.
We'd rather eat in too, but would get delivery/takeaway and eat in the park if we could rely on the weather, but this is Glasgow!
Actually we both want to try Kimchi Cult but that's weather dependent.

Ox and Finch is somewhere we're keen to go too, but not sure we might not look like a bit of a mess by the time we get there, I was thinking of it for Dd's birthday in August when we won't have been out and about first.
Is dragged through hedge v casual ok?

You could always park in Kelvingrove car park and then pop across the road to Mother India's café (as opposed to the Mother India restaurant that's slightly further away).

Kimchi Cult is good too. But tiny. They have a few tables inside I think but hard to guarantee you'd find a parking space on Chancellor Street, although not an impossibility!

Classica · 16/06/2021 13:05

Casual is fine at Ox and Finch!

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/06/2021 13:10

We both love eating at The Kitchin in Edinburgh btw, so we know good food and how to dress, I'm just not sure day out+decently dressed work well together. particularly with my insane hair
I'm not looking for anywhere of that calibre either, just good food where I can easily park without circling several times.
I hate difficult parking, plus can't walk far, and that would stress Dd as she's got ASD.

Parking at the gallery itself (lots of disabled bays) and going across the road to Mother India Café would seem the most hassle free option. Their food is delish.

My parking spot for Kelvingrove is Park Circus on Park Terrace. It's metered but there are always spaces and it's not expensive as Glasgow City Council parking goes. It's a 5 minute walk to Eusebi from there.

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/06/2021 13:39

I think we're going with Mother India Cafe.
It does seem the easiest option and we're keen to go anyway.
We can share food!
( I started a thread about food sharing the other day and it seems not many others like to, but we are sharers!)
Thanks for your help, we're going to be doing the same with the Transport museum and the MOMA too so any further suggestions would be great, in fact any centralish area of Glasgow for now, but even further out.
I drive over and pick up Dd from Springburn, so we can go anywhere, and anything from fancy to cheap and cheerful but great suits us and anything from steak, to vegan to chicken feet, we just enjoy eating out together.

I can't help with recommendations but see you are sorted but just wanted to comment that we are food sharers too a d not always in places where stuff is served in sharing type dishes. Last night we were out, Ds1 had the mushrooms from DS2s dish, DH and I ate everyone's veg, DSs shared my pie crust and some of my chips. Family dining with stuff being passed around.

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/06/2021 13:47

So long as I can park easily!
We ate at Yo Sushi at Braehead last week which we love, and we'd not been for years, but the main reason for choosing it was the parking.
Although the other places there are fine, and we don't hate chains, in fact we're planning on going to Stack and Still, we do prefer independents generally.

We don't always share, in, say a steak restaurant, but would always try each others, plus order differently and often one finishes the others, neither of us have huge appetites so sharing a starter/extra side/dessert makes sense.
I can't see an issue so long as its done politely and food isn't being thrown across the table, and everyone at the meal is happy to share too.

RedactedTaeFeck · 16/06/2021 13:58

Exactly, it's usually more about people wanting rid of things they don't like or in my case there just being too much. Everyone else is over 6'2 with bigger appetites. We have it down to a fine art in terms of polite behaviour Grin

I just hate to see waste.

IHaveBrilloHair · 16/06/2021 14:10

Same!
For Dd's 18th, three of us went to The Butcher's Shop, also near Kelvingrove and amazing.
Between us we had two starters, three steaks which came with chips and a sauce, two add ons, one dessert, one cheese plate and then Dd got a birthday dessert on the house.
You better believe we all tasted everything and there was nothing left!
No mess on the table, no bad manners and we all loved it.
We'd happily go back and will, just not this time as we want to try somewhere new.

Just to reiterate Ox and Finch is very casual. I got dressed up the 1st time I went as assumed very posh. It's not, very relaxed casual atmosphere if you still fancy there.

singme · 17/06/2021 16:33

Love all the above restaurants!

My go to places for parking are La Belle Place/Royal Terrace/Gray St or Park Circus. Lots of spaces. Also Kelvingrove gallery should be ideal parking as said above.
