Who's doing lateral flows?

Saint Nicola just said we should all be doing 2 lateral flows a week. Hmm

I've never done one. Neither has DH. Kids did a couple each then said they didn't want to do any more.

(And why can't she say doSE? It's not doze.)
@Lidlfix I don’t care who tests as long as cases recorded don’t result in further lockdown.

Like you, I think medical choices are personal.

I’m just getting terrified that more testing =more cases= more lockdown.
You have your calculations wrong

 • less testing = more cases = more lockdown
or
 • more testing = less cases = less lockdown

The more people who test, get a positive and then isolate quicker reduce spread in the community.

Even through the LFT is not accurate, it will catch some cases and reduce the ongoing transmission from them.

@ProseccoThyme

I've done them before taking the kids to see family - there is a local outbreak & I like the reassurance in case DC had asymptomatic infections.

The cyclic in me thinks Nicola is asking us all to do it in order to bring down the % of positive tests Grin

LFTs aren’t included in the test totals “ The test positivity described above relates to PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test results only.”

Not in Scotland, but I do them twice weekly for work (primary school). I have had both vaccinations as have a number of my colleagues. I consider that even if they only pick up one asymptomatic case, that is a good enough reason to do them.

Spot on @WeAllHaveWings

I do mine too. I find it reassuring, especially as I work in a school. I found them really unpleasant at first, but you get used to them, and also learn how little swabbing you can get away with.
