Does anyone know if the level 3 travel restrictions are law?

Is it still illegal to travel between level 3 and lower level areas and in Scotland?

And how are they going to police people moving in and out of Glasgow and all the areas surrounding it?

Thank you.

No specific mention of whether these are laws as far as I can see. However I thought that travel into or out of a level 3 area without a permitted "excuse" had been made illegal. Hmmmm

Raspberry The impression I get from reading the list of permitted reasons is that they're not intended to be policed.

When my daughter came out from Glasgow to visit me in East Dunbartonshire if challenged I reckon we could have cited " parental support" seeing as unsurprisingly I try to support my daughter.

I was wondering this too, and there's definitely no way they'll be able to police it. But the link emma posted has within it a link to the relevant regulations which does put them in law (schedule 4, part 4).
(also, extra points to the drafters for use of the lovely word, "outwith")

Restrictions on leaving Level 3 area
13.—(1) A person who lives in a Level 3 area must not leave or remain away from that area.
[(2) But a person who lives in a Level 3 area may leave the area in order to travel to another part of the same area.]

Restrictions on entering Level 3 area
14.—(1) A person who does not live in a Level 3 area must not enter or remain in that area.
[(2) But a person who does not live in a Level 3 area may travel through it in order to reach a place outwith the area.]

(then examples of "reasonable excuse" are given, which are obviously so broad, pretty much any reason would fall under them, as last time)

I'm interested in this, my DS is pretty run down both physically and mentally he's just finished his exams and is totally disillusioned with university and thinking of chucking it in which IMO would be a terrible shame, so he's coming to me for lots of TLC help and support.

Thank you resilience . Disappointing.

scottishhills. How rubbish for your DS. Students have been treated appallingly. I hope he feels better once his exams are out of the way.
