Vaccine passport - what documentation?

Just watching a news article about a vaccine passport possibly being needed to gain access to pubs etc when they re-open.

I wasn't given any documentation whatsoever at my first vaccine. I have seen other people on social media given a card but is this just in England? Were you given any paperwork? Just wondering. Thanks.

It's recorded in your medical records, and will likely be via an app if/when it's implemented.

I received the card and an information leaflet (I am in England).
The card is effectively just a reminder, but it also gives the batch number which I have used to record it as part of a study*

My surgery uses SystmOnline to manage appointments and prescription requests etc, and it gives me access to my patient record
Example screenshot attached showing my 1st vaccination

  • I have signed up with the DSRU study at Southampton university which will monitor any longer term side effects

I think it was Scotland wide that no card was issued. As PP says, it'll be on your electronic records therefore available on some app in due course.

No paper card was issued in Scotland, they are looking into a passport scheme trying to see what’s least likely to be faked. It may also depend on what’s agreed with other countries - if the UK issues a crappy handwritten piece of paper would border control in say New Zealand accept that? I doubt it.

Regardless of what scheme they come up with there may be a charge for it! I needed vaccination certs for a private sector job and had to pay my GP a fee. Which was understandable as it was over and above their normal NHS contract.

I heard Jason Leitch talk about this last week actually, he said it should be left to the WHO to decide on some sort of international system.

If it's only available on an app it's not very fair for people without smart phones tbh. Lots of older and disabled people don't have smart phones or wouldn't be able to use one.

@UnderHisAye that makes sense, it would need to be the same all over the world.

Really hope Boris doesn’t do a world beating UK one 😬 How do you get a government contract again?........
