Full time nursery in Glasgow

Does anyone use full time nursery in Glasgow? We've decided it's going to be the best for our circumstances for us both to keep working full time after maternity leave, so I was just hoping for some idea of costs before I start contacting nurseries. Would probably be looking at 8:30-4:30 M-F, in the East End so nothing fancy Grin

If anyone could share rough costs, things to think about and recommendations, I'd be very grateful Smile

My dc have been out of nursery for a couple of years now. But we were around £50 per day for 8am-6pm.

Morning and afternoon snacks were included but meals were extra (I think £3.50 per meal).

Nappies and wipes were included at ds1 nursery but not ds2.

I'm not sure about the East end but check waiting list times, for our preferred nursery you needed to be on the list before they were born! Ds2 didn't even reach the top of the list before he started school. We used a different nursery in the end but the still has a waiting list of around 12 months. I'm not sure if covid and introduction of 30hrs preschool funding will have impacted on waiting lists.

Ours is in the w end. Just over £50 a day, includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, but we provide nappies, wipes etc. Open 7.30am to 6.00pm. Similar to a PP, our closest nursery is so popular you need to register before birth! Where we use we registered about 5 or 6 months before she started which was fine, could probably have done it later.

Not Glasgow but east Dunbartonshire, £50 per day which includes lunch but you provide your own nappies and breast or formula milk if needed.

And yes with ours we had to pay a deposit before ds was born in December and he won't be starting til January next year!

Thanks for the responses! £50 a day seems to be a good guide then and pretty much what I was expecting.

One of the nurseries I looked at said not to enquire til the child was born so I assumed that was the case all round - very glad I asked! Luckily not here yet, so I will start making enquiries.

Thank you all Star

Remember to look into tax free child care account. The gov pays £2 for every 8 you pay.
