We will be moving a short hop north of the border very soon so I am trying to get my head around the rules

The rules say to stay within your local authority area. That seems to be the whole of the Scottish Borders ? Is that right? I was expecting more council /parish area?

It's nice living in Fife as we have a lot of coast!

Finfintytint · 17/03/2021 17:03

I’m in filthy North Lanarks but have been exercising and shopping in South Lanarks (6 miles away).
Couldn’t get Plantains in Lanarkshire at all, so went into Glasgow combined with a nice walk around the Botanical Gardens. Shoot me now.

Agree, we are really lucky. I found a wee path to a beach I hadn't discovered before last week. It was so peaceful it was almost magical.

Not really, tons of green space in Dundee. Depends how sick you are of parks though really!

YY there were thousand of people on Magdalen Green today for St Patrick’s day.

UnderHisAye · 17/03/2021 19:48

Oh really @IM0GEN Grin loads of bored students I bet. That used to be a brilliant night out in my student days!

Isn’t it still supposed to be “stay home” though, and “travel no further than you have to to exercise”.

I would love to go for a walk on the beach but would have to travel well over an hour to get there (ironically it would be half the time if I could just pop across to the next region).

@finfintytint.
Where did you get the plantains from?
I love them.

There’s a South African store on Great Western Road plus numerous fantastic grocery shops along there.

@Finfintytint yup not much to entertain yourself in NLC, a day out to pishy Wishie, or Motherwell or hawd the bus to Cumbernauld the choice is endless. Ive already decided I’m going-to Troon for sand sea and chips at the weekend. I need to see and smell the sea.

Finfintytint · 18/03/2021 02:29

Giggly, desperate to get to the coast too. Wishaw Tesco isn’t ticking any boxes for me at the moment.

I worked out Culross is 5 miles as the crow flies from Clacks, its not got a beach but does have a muddy shoreline and there might be seagulls...
