We weren't planning on moving any time soon but it is now a possibility. Obviously starting point needs to be getting a valuation for our house but it's not exactly "immaculate"...
Not sure we ever would get it into that kind of condition cause it's not the kind of people we are (!) but there are a few things that in normal circumstances we would do - like replacing a couple of carpets and getting a company in to do a clean. In lockdown those aren't really possible but hopefully would be by the time we were actually going on the market. Aside from anything else if we were definitely selling presumably some of the house-sale-exemption would then apply.
Do we need to fuss about stuff like that before getting estate agents in for valuation or would we be as well to just get the valuation and let them tell us what things they think we need to fix? Just wasn't sure if we should do all of the work first as presumably first impressions count for everyone and since the estate agent would then be arranging the home report, etc...
