Here is some info from a trusted source about the plan for Scotland.
Even if we are tier two for Xmas, that's still not great.

Op you've not acknowledged that the announcement didn't match what is on your document?

I doubt we'll be having any indoor socialising at Christmas, not disputing that. Your document was shown to be wrong already though

Groovee · 18/11/2020 11:28

To be honest, I don't expect things to change in the next year. Since I stopped having expectations in the last week it's really helped.

Horehound · 18/11/2020 12:42

What bit didn't it match @39weekswithno2 ?

Yes I agree with you

@Horehound have you read my posts?

??? any of it??? the length of time for level 4, the NE comment, all level 3s staying there till Jan..
Horehound · 18/11/2020 13:24

You don't know about Jan since we aren't in Jan yet!

I don't know when doc was typed so could just be a comment if NE staying in 3 rather than moving. Hardly a big deal is it?!

I think relaxation is only relevant to the 25th and 26th Dec seeing as all other restrictions are dependent on numbers. They can easily extend the level four areas for more weeks if they wish can't they?

OP posts:
Sturmundcalm · 18/11/2020 14:17

no we're not in Jan yet but two LAs are moving from level 3 to level 2 on Tuesday... and the NE is at level 2... seriously, as someone has already asked - have you actually seen what was announced yesterday???

Aurea · 18/11/2020 14:27

I live in the NE, and our local councillor has just messaged to say the NE was earmarked for going into level 3 on Friday, but escaped last minute by a whisker.

GoldenOmber · 18/11/2020 14:46

The sheet is a mock up to give to a political editor so it's not an official document that's not meant to look pretty.

All documents given to journalists would usually be spelt correctly, know what terms like 'R number' mean, and know what current levels of restrictions are like no home visits at level 2. It's not about 'looking pretty', it's about looking like it wasn't produced by a focus group from Primary 3.

Do you not think that if council representatives had been briefed on this and then learned that it didn't match what was announced, they might be quite cross? And saying so?

You might trust your source, OP, but it doesn't actually sound like they know what they're talking about.

Sturmundcalm · 18/11/2020 16:09

considering the only difference in "codes" between the Aberdeens and A&B is a medium for test positivity, and they're talking about hopefully putting A&B down to level 1 that seems a bit unreasonable. I think there is a risk that the NE will go up if they can't get the recent rise in cases under control so could happen in the next week or two but I think if they'd done it while moving the lothians (with higher rates) down there would have been a riot!
Horehound · 18/11/2020 16:16

And also everyone is presuming this was the copy sent to the editor, it could just be their draft before they finalised it. 🤷

God how can folk be bothered to post such drivel

fluffyugg · 18/11/2020 16:44

NE didn't move to level 3, doesn't look like a credible source to me.

fluffyugg · 18/11/2020 16:47

I think there will be indoor socialising at Christmas if we are doing a 4 nations approach. If it was left up to the SG to do their own thing I think in home socialising would be very limited, which in my opinion would be sensible given the situation we're in right now.

MrsAmaretto · 18/11/2020 16:49

What a lot of bullish*t! Stop spreading such nonsense.

Your "trusted source" appears unaware that some areas in the country are in Level 1 or do we not matter for this "leaked" document.

Next you'll be believing that Trump won the US Presidential Election.......

Finfintytint · 18/11/2020 16:53

I think that whatever the restrictions in place over the bank holiday, people will ignore them anyway. There will be family celebrations going on regardless. Agree or disagree with restrictions, folk will get together with no means to police it.

Horehound · 18/11/2020 17:01

Jeez people are really horrible and hostile on here.
I'm not bothered if you believe it or not really, it doesn't affect me if you do or don't.i was merely showing you what I have been told from a very good friend with trustworthy connections.

:)

Time will tell as I said earlier.

Yes I am sure you are right and there won't be enough police around to tackle it and also if lots of people are doing it,no one will call the police anyway!

So what political editor did it go to and when can we expect to see it in print?

emmathedilemma · 19/11/2020 10:13

A "reliable source" also told me we were all heading for a hard lockdown 2 weeks ago Hmm
