Moving into level 3

DumplingsAndStew · 10/11/2020 14:50

As of Friday, Angus, Fife and Perth & Kinross will be moving in to level 3.

I'm so angry. I know loads of people who have been travelling into Dundee for fucking shopping. Now the rest of us get penalised too Sad

No it's true the memo has been shared freely.

DumplingsAndStew · 12/11/2020 09:56

Just reading about it now, though only see reference to a letter from Aberdeenshire Council, not the letter itself (as an aside, why do so many of these notifications seem to be coming out via letter, instead of email? Surely digital is better environmentally?)

That's awful to throw their own teachers under the bus like that. Am glad ScotGov have clarified.

Yes Dumplings , I think it was via email mail ( a screenshot was on twitter).

The cynic in me- is this because it's a Tory council and the SG originally got the blame? As NS immediately said that teachers should have their phones with them and the app on, they've now moved onto making a mountain out of a molehill with the testing scheme.

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 14:11

but teachers not having adequate PPE and safety measures (which is your main issue) is squarely SG's responsibility isn't it? They should strike in my view for tier 4.

Scotslassie1 · 13/11/2020 14:26

Personally I don't think all teachers need medical grade ppe. We're likely to move to tier 4 next week and I'd rather not move to blended learning.

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 14:32

ah sorry I misunderstood, I thought you were supporting the teaching unions. Interesting to see how that vote goes - imagine a lot of teachers will have childcare headaches like the rest of us if voting for BL.

I completely accept they're at higher risk. The rest of it looks like sideline minor stuff to me.

I live in Fife and work in Dundee; my boss doesn't want us to work from home. So I have to go, and I get my shopping on the way home or in my lunch hour.

I don't actually want to go. But your post is pointless in blaming people nipping to Tesco. It's much more likely people like me who cross the bridge for work purposes.

Scotslassie1 · 13/11/2020 14:35

*Should point out teachers aren't being balloted on enhanced ppe but that was the reasoning given for the guidance re the turning off of the app by Aberdeen(shire?) council.

Scotslassie1 · 13/11/2020 14:37

That's ok annon, no I completely understand it'd be a nightmare for parents. It's a tricky one.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 13/11/2020 14:39

Plus it's unfair that I'm in tier 3 when my village has had less than 4 cases in a fortnight. The vast majority of cases are in the bigger centres of Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, etc, which are the best part of an hours drive from me.

I could claim unfairness too, but honestly
I think all this moaning is pointless. I'm sure if people droned on and on a bit less about it, it wouldn't be such a chore.

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 14:50

I don't know, a bit of moaning is a sign of a free society. I remember watching a documentary on the gulags and one of the women that lived near it said that in her view, it was only the moaners that ended up there.

People find different ways through things.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 13/11/2020 14:59

Yeah that's true, at least we can moan!

I just - I don't see this level of complaint in real life, and i guess that people are offloading on MN, but it puts me off coming on here. I always end up feeling worse than I did before.

anon444877 · 13/11/2020 15:08

that's generally true of social media and online communications, a lot of it is driven to extremes. I feel the same after a trawl through twitter, in fact it can be worse as there seems to be little politeness there.

Luckily I don't have too many friends posting politics on fb but I've got one that constantly bombards us with warnings about covid, how you're not wearing your mask properly, how people aren't taking it seriously etc so I get that it's draining.

I'm sure the vaccines will add up to a better 2021!

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 13/11/2020 15:21

Here's hoping!

DumplingsAndStew · 13/11/2020 23:03

I apologise to anyone I offended or bored with my moaning and frustration.

I'm just fed up. I've followed the rules, played my bit, seen the negative effects on my children, and felt them on myself. I'm just disappointed and sad Sad

Nah I was being grumpy too Grin

It is boring and shite. But my motto is proceed with optimism, not in a PollyAnna type way, more of a roll your sleeves up and crack on and let's get it over with type way.

I'm a bit impatient with whinging.

In fact I've just realised I've become my mother.

Damnit! 😂
