Are council swimming pools open?

I live in England and finding it hard to figure out when swimming pools in South Lanarkshire - particularly the Dollan Baths in East Kilbride - are planning to open. My elderly dad is desperate to get back to his three times a week early morning swim. From what I can make out online they are still closed but plan to have lessons on by 5 Oct. anyone any the wiser?

My understanding that all South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture pools remain closed. They have started gradually reopening gym facilities. Like you say looks like lessons for kids will return from 5th Oct, but I guess with the new local lockdown things are up in the air again. So difficult if swimming is your thing, I really feel for your dad. (I work with some SLLC folk so if I hear anything else I’ll post.) Aside: love the Dollan Aqua Centre building!

Some are starting to open from tomorrow. I'm in north lanarkshire and selected venues are opening tomorrow including swimming pools. You need to book in advance though

Looks like its not opening yet and may have to wait until 5th October when they open for lessons

Dollan and Hamilton Water Palace are meant to be opening on October 5th for limited public lane swimming (and swimming lessons and club use). Haven't seen just how limited the public swimming will be.

Thank you all that's helpful and do let me know if you hear anything. I've got Dad phoning once a week but just answerphone for now. He is a season ticket holder for the early morning swim so hope they might get in soon. He's 88 and online booking beyond him unless we can set it up for him from afar. He has worked hard at walking daily since lockdown but losing swimming has really affected his joints and balance.

I'm actually dropping in to see him tomorrow after dropping dd at uni, but will of course now have to remain in the garden. Will still Venice to see him.

Abies loch or Belgray? Both have “communities” if he didn’t want to try on his own.
