From the SG. Thought I’d share as it’s hard to know what to do.

Did you get that in the post?

Callisto1 · 01/09/2020 12:48

We got it as an email from school.

WeAllHaveWings · 01/09/2020 12:55

Saw it on school twitter this morning, expect we will get an email soon through the school app too.

Its is good it has been sent out. Ds caught a cold on Sunday and I wasnt sure if I sent him in would he be sent home!

Yes it's good to have it since the communication from school was a bit ambiguous. They were thanking parents for keeping children with colds and sniffles at home. So it seemed they wanted us to do more than what gouvernment guidance demands without spelling it out. What a minefield!!

The episode of Inside Science with Tim Spector, the Kings College epidemiologist, recently said that actually children are unlikely to get the classic symptoms as suggested by the government.

Children are more likely to have: headache, fatigue, fever, sore throat, and lost appetite.

The government guidance for England also says that people who are ill should stay home. Reducing the chances of your very mildly symptomatic child spreading the virus to their potentially vulnerable teacher/friends parents etc.

Yes, the mixed advice was why I thought I’d share. DS has a cold and I wasn’t sure, although he’s actually too rough for school anyway today. That advice seems reasonable though, I think.
