Well, that’s a surprise. My guess is he’s been up to something unsavoury or else he’ll come out in support of independence in a few months. (Did Keizia Dugdale ever change direction?)

I am an SNP supporter but I think they need a credible opposition. Carlaw wasn’t and Richard Leonard (who?) also isn’t.

Who do you think should lead Scottish Conservatives/Scottish Labour?

Just the same as Carlaw. Totally lacking in oomph ;-) Ruth Davidson has more oomph in her little finger than both of them together.

There must be other people who have a wee bit more personality and gumption in Scottish politics.

I agree, of any variety as long as they were shared out to get some proper debate going.

Maybe we should have a programme for politicians like the ones they have for olympians? Work out what traits you are looking for and identify them in teenagers/young adults and put them into training Grin. So for rowing they were looking for men age 18-25, over 6'3 with an athletic build and any kind of sports background, therefore for politicians they'd want what? Intelligence, ability to spraff shite, not afraid of debate, good at kissing babies?

I had a 2 year old who could argue black was white and wanted to be a judge when he grew up. He's now studying Politics....

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your outlook) he mellowed out in his teenage years and is very laid back. Terrible acne left him with bad scars which knocked his confidence.

It’s the people that aren’t sure of themselves that ought to be in politics - so many politicians seem to never suffer a moment of self doubt!
