Like Troon or Ayr?

Is it mobbed, are people social distancing?

Live closest to Portobello but nope

thenamesarealltaken · 29/05/2020 22:46

No. Most seem to be still social distancing here. Stayed in garden and listened to the seagulls.

ssd · 29/05/2020 23:43

I haven't seen any horror pics yet of our beaches

Must say, everyone here bar the odd idiot, really stuck to lock down

But the past 2 days, people, especially the young, have forgotten to social distance at all

It's shocking

I've had one person from Callander whinging and moaning about "outsiders" being there, to be fair she sounds like she has issues so no idea about the veracity of her comments. She was replying to me complaining on the council fb page that they are not opening the car park (and patrolling it) on our local hill so that although it's within 5 miles and we allowed to hillwalk we can't.

Other than the supermarket I've not been anywhere as was working Sad

ssd · 30/05/2020 10:55

I've not been anywhere except a walk as I'm too bloody scared!
This good weather and being furloughed is wasted on me.

Wax I saw that post about Callander. The Council's FB page seems to attract folk moaning - mainly about that tips bring closed then moaning when they open them.

Stirling town centre was much busier yesterday than previous week's

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/05/2020 11:01

Ssd do you have any health issues?

They've done a good job of having folk terrified but the risks if you aren't in the shielding category and you mainly stay in your own home or anywhere outdoors are really really tiny. You shouldn't be afraid of being outdoors where it's quiet. I think infections out of doors have occurred where folk are packed together such as at the racecourse or cincerts/sports events. Some countries have less than 2 meters as an acceptable gap.

ssd · 30/05/2020 11:01

I'm just outside Glasgow and since Thursday it's been much busier than before, and there's sod all social distance happening. Young ones especially are just taking the piss, I know it's hard for them, but my teen is sticking with it but us getting peed off seeing his schoolmates wandering round in groups.

Ha, you probably know who I am then stoorie. Someone complained that there were cars passing through their village putting elderly residents at risk. Not quite sure how that works.

Mad Callander woman doesn't want folk using their shops. I can get that at the beginning when infection rates were high and shops had shortages but not now. Bonkers. The town will die after this as I for one won't be giving them my money and I'm sure I won't be alone.

I'm not intending putting anyone at risk but I resent being denied what we're legally allowed to do and what is also allowed within the guidance.

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/05/2020 11:09

Yep, ssd I get annoyed on behalf of the kids/teens that are sticking to the rules who are seeing their school mates and neighbours do what they like.

I've told my two to think for themselves now, don't put anyone else at risk but if something is slightly different from rules but of equal or less risk then go for it.

StoorieHoose · 30/05/2020 11:10

There are so many posts being replied to by mad Callander women that I couldn't possibly find you!

Yep I agree about Callander needing people to visit afterwards - although I only go there to visit the Highland coo and then go to the chippie :)

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/05/2020 11:12

One of my friends was tagged in a post about having a bbq and counting who was tagged it came to 9. Was tempted to make a funny comment but restrained myself in case it was taken the wrong way. I mean two families and one has 3 dc, are they supposed to leave one behind?

WaxOnFeckOff · 30/05/2020 11:13

Stoorie, yes, I get that she's scared but she needs to give her head a shake.

ssd · 30/05/2020 12:11

@WaxOnFeckOff, I'm the same. My 2 aren't daft, they know the rules and I trust them.

Furthest mine have been is around the estate and none of there friends are local so might as well still be in tighter lock down Smile

ssd · 30/05/2020 12:25

Mines just told me his pals are meeting up in someone's back garden today but he's not going. And his gf is shielding so he does not see her.
I feel for him.

I really want to go to a beach. might be the only beach i bloody see this year after cruise got cancelled (although I wouldn't have gone anyway!)

But I'm scared of social distancing.

Loch Lomond was nuts at the weekend. We only went for a walk (within our 5 miles). It will be worse once the McDonalds opens on Thursday. I really want a big mac but not so much that I'll wait 3 hours for one.
