Can anyone tell me about Glasgow near the Seven Lochs wetland park? Im lookout to move and see lots of houses popping up near here but know nothing of the area.

Is it safe? Nice? Any particular spots nearby you would suggest or avoid?

Im looking for somewhere with good transport links but still with access to big fields and trails so this seems perfect on paper...

"Looking to move" not lookout!

Budget? This is a very mixed area. On one hand you have Lenzie which is very middle class, lots of big detached houses, great schools, expensive.

On the other you have Easterhouse on the other side of the park which is one of the most deprived areas of the city, houses are 10% of the price in Lenzie, but for a reason.

Thanks @SockYarn for coming back to me. Thinking around £250k and happy for anything with 2+ bedrooms and private garden

I'd probably look north, to Lenzie, Kirkintilloch, some parts of Stepps. Do you have children you will be trying to get into schools?

I moved to Lenzie last year from the other side of East Dunbartonshire and am delighted with the area. There are fantastic pathways/cycle routes to all sorts of places easily accessible from all areas of Lenzie. You would get a 3 bed property here for your budget.

There are 2 trains an hour into Glasgow. It's a 15 minute journey. All of is about a 5 minute drive to the motorway. Journey time from my house to my daugher who loves in the centre is 17 minutes door to door. There are buses too.

Kirkintilloch is slightly further away from all the things you're after but significantly cheaper than Lenzie.

Im not at the stage of thinking about kids and schools, but would like to be well positioned for the years to come! Lenzie definitely sounds promising
