Sending flowers (for a bereavement) during lock down

A close colleagues mum passed away a couple of days ago (not Covid related).

In normal circumstances our small team would send flowers with a card, and attend the funeral service to show support. Obviously we won't be attending the funeral now, I will send a card.

Do you think flowers are still ok/appropriate to send during lock down? She is in Glasgow, I am further away in an area which has less coronavirus cases. Florists appear to be open and offering contact free delivery, but I don't want to send flowers if they are potentially a source of worry. Obviously they are "not essential". Probably overthinking this! 🤦‍♀️ WWYD?

Hi op. I've recently received 5 bunches of flower shop flowers from the Leeds area after an op about 4 weeks ago. I'm not worried about the implications of this at all. No different than picking some up from the supermarket in terms of infection.

I've seen lots of recommendations for this florist in my local community group

Never used them myself though

Posted too soon. Thus recommendations have been specifically since lockdown and have been for things like funerals.

Thanks, I'll arrange to send her some. I have someone local to her who knows where she stays doing their daily exercise past her house today to get her address for us 🤦🏻‍♀️. HR obviously won't give us due to GDPR.
