Anyone got an S3 child?

My S3 is a very reluctant worker. Google classroom work sent (on her phone though so I can't fully investigate)
Work seems very vague. Here's some revision worksheets etc. Certainly nothing like her private school friends who are having Zoom lessons and proper timetable.
She's bright but unmotivated and lazy and without the structure of school I fear she will fall further behind.
Both my husband and I are working full time (one at home but full on and another out of house 8.45-6pm) with 2 much younger other children to supervise.

What do you think will happen when they go back? Will better organised schools pupils be at an advantage? I know there are bigger things to think about but she needs really good grades for what she wants to do.

Can I gently ask you to not worry. I am teacher working from home and have 4 DDs who have ranged from hard working achieving due to effort to , CBA (cannot be arsed, to mega bright coaster..

If she is not stressed out to the max by all the changes be pleased. Learning is a social activity and this is new and weird and she can't just giggle with her pals about it.

I have diligently set work for my S3 every day and one has checked in.

Don't compare with independent schools as they have vastly superior IT provision. I struggled to get my school provided Chromebook to connect to WIFI this morning far less support Zoom.

Be flexible, she won't miss out . If she's made her course choices encourage her to read around the topics she'll be covering.

But remember this is weird and new and unfamiliar for everyone. If I can send English stuff let me know .

Dd is S3, the school have been great and she's been doing about 4-5 hours of school work per day although she is an over achiever!
Im glad she's being kept busy though.
