Just saw this awful story on the news, as a parent who has dealt with similar childhood illness I am appalled at the circumstances here. That poor wee girl and her family.

I just watched that too-how on earth do you begin to trust the medical profession again after an experience like that?

You don't, same with social work etc, essentially all the people you absolutely need on side to help raise a disabled child. A year away from family at that age for a seriously ill child is just beyond cruel. They will live with that forever.

What kind of mad accusation is cutting a feeding tube? That is completely bonkers!!!

I have seen other situations when parents (of SN dc) who are seen as too demanding are on the receiving end of some fairly threatening behaviour so that they back down. Usually related to funding or placing requests but this just seems to be down to the parents (rightly) asking questions about infection rate and having the tables turned on them. Just gut wrenching and of course completely unethical.

The more stories that come out of that hospital about the design flaws and the deaths caused, now this, the more I feel like society is peddling backwards on disability.

How in actual fuck does it take a year to sort out an insane accusation like this? Just so wrong and so so sad.
