Recommendation for counsellor Glasgow/Lanark areas

Hi there, I’m looking for a counsellor to talk through some childhood stuff with. I had a very good one years ago, she did core process counselling, and I’ve been looking for the same approach since without luck - I didn’t click with the last two women I tried. Happy to look beyond this now, any recommendations?

Honestly, your GP can refer you to a psychiatrist, psychologist or your local "community mental health team", to me the latter became more like a friend who dropped by once a month (I'm disabled so she came to my house), and let me offload everything that had been happening since her previous visit... However! I completely understand you saying that you haven't "clicked" with 2 already, it's SUCH an important thing to be sure about, and believe me, I've had plenty that I wouldn't open up to or cooperate with in the past...

When I was in my early teens I had an eating disorder, and no-one was getting through to me! That was until I was around 18, and began searching for a "group" therapy, where I wasn't the only person in the room who had "eating problems" and it was the best thing I'd ever came across...

Basically, if it's something that is disturbing and you wouldn't want anyone to know, stick to a professional, if it's support for a "common" area of mental health, which you wouldn't mind discussing with other people who are going through the same thing, then have a look at support groups, I know they have them for eating disorders, bereavements, domestic violence, gender issues etc... xXx

I know someone who got a referral to a very good counsellor (sounds very similar to what you're going through) via his GP. Unfortunately, I know she's not taking on any new clients because she is wanting to retire.
