We have just moved into the catchment area of Ashley road school and still. Joseph; just wondering which is better? Most people within our area seems to go to Ashley road...
Any advise, suggestion would be appreciated

Both are very good. St Joseph's is the Catholic Primary in the area. Go talk to the headteachers and read the Education reports online. We went with our local primary rather than the further away Catholic Primary because we wanted ds to go to school with neighbouring children.

Welcome to Aberdeen, by the way, D4Jamen

I'm from Aberdeen and I went to Airyhall primary (back in the day). I've heard Ashley Road is a good school, not heard much about st Joseph's. X

Actually I've looked at St Joseph's website and I know the head teacher. She's fabulous. Would happily sent my son there. But other school Ashley Road is also good. Go with your gut instinct.

Family of mine went to St Joseph's, said it was brilliant.

What are the feeder secondaries? Does that make any difference?

FestiveForestieraNoel · 29/11/2018 11:58

I think both are for Aberdeen Grammar. There isn't a Catholic Secondary.

Yep: stjosephsprimary.aberdeen.sch.uk/parents/associated-school-group/

I don't really know Aberdeen Blush - but my ds recently started at Uni there and is loving it Smile

He's playing for Granite City U18 rugby team (combined Aberdeen Grammar and Aberdeen Wanderers team), so that is the extent of my knowledge! Wink (which has nothing to do with the school Grin)

FestiveForestieraNoel · 29/11/2018 12:31

I'm glad to hear he's enjoying himself - I like the city. The weather is really rubbish up here today though.

FestiveForestieraNoel · 29/11/2018 12:33

Grin actually I remember you from another thread prettybird - your ds is only wearing a jumper up here, didn't you say? Get him winter clothes for Christmas or he won't survive the Spring term...

prettybird · 29/11/2018 12:42

He has bought himself some jumpers from Primark Grin - but only thin cotton crew necks Hmm

And yes, I'm planning on giving him at least one warm jumper for Christmas Smile - am in the process of working out what Icelandic jumper (and the colours) I can knit him Grin chunky yarn for speed Wink

prettybird · 29/11/2018 12:44

He does have 2 warm jackets: a ski jacket and a pea coat. Smile

FestiveForestieraNoel · 29/11/2018 12:52

That sounds lovely prettybird. He'll probably be speaking Doric like a native.
