Looking to go camping in a few weeks to overlap a day or two i need to help my mum in st andrews.

Born and bred in n.e fife and i can think of bloody nowhere. Id prefer more towards dundee so we can take the kids fun places i.e camperdown etc as we live rural and would like to be a bit away from the dp's in the east neuk

Is this too far away:

We absolutely love these guys. Don't know how close you want to be to St Andrews, they might be just too far.

Gizmos and fishy no theyre not too far, could do a wee day trip up to cadonas too Grin

Id personally prefer we were dundee end than fife. Id rather be a bit away from mum and dad. As long as i could travel into st andrews a day or two.

We dont drive so not too far in the middle of nowhere.

My heart says somewhere like tentsmuir... the head says ffs

If you are going to Codonas, may I recommend Stonehaven outdoor pool if you make an overnight of it. There is a coach that will take you from Dundee to Stonehaven. The playpark there is nice too.
I am not really a fan of Camperdown, though they are doing a new play area (probably won't be ready for a few weeks maybe months, but is in progress).

Also a good venue especially if it's rainy here is www.piperdam.com/ - check out the activity barn.
You can stay overnight but it's lodges, I don't think they have camping.

How old are the kids?

BrazzleDazzleDay · 29/06/2018 22:05

Oh no is caperdown not as good as i remember it being? We took the dd's to the park about 5 years ago and I have to say I bloody loved it, I was 5 again.

I have to admit camping is based on dd wanting a multiperson sleepover and dh banging on about camping and him having a week off/me needing to help mum.

Kids are 9, 7 and 3yo twins.

It's pretty popular, but I personally can't see why! I find it stressful keeping track of both kids, it's so vast and uncontained. They've done away with the boating pond too. Also there are no swings for the big kids, just one of those nest swings. I understand the rationale (imaginative play) but still, meh! :D
Piperdam is close so you can call in to Camperdown on your way back if you do Piperdam.
Mine are seven and three and if you fancy some new friends for an afternoon at the park/Piperdam, let me know! :D

Nydie Farm in Strathkinness but it might be a bit too close?

There’s a site in Carnoustie that I hear good things about too,.
