Are you buying or renting. What is your budget? Do you like a nice quiet place or busy, near all the amenities?

MsMarvel · 14/06/2018 15:23

Renting. Budget of around 4-500 a month i think. Going to need to properly look through finances etc, never lived myself...

What area are you in just now?

MsMarvel · 14/06/2018 15:28

Im in the finnieston area. So i know i would need to move out of the centre a bit to get more for my money. I have a car and drive a lot for work so areas near motorway etc would be good.

Some bits of Paisley are nice and quiet, 15 mins walk to Gilmore St with 10 min journey time to Central -

Where do you have friends/family? Try near people you know.

Skippii · 14/06/2018 15:32

Areas around St Georges Cross and the start of Maryhill used to come into that price range

Dontletthebastardsgrindyoudown · 14/06/2018 15:43

Paisley is a good shout, but only really if you can push your budget over £500 to get the better areas.

MsMarvel · 14/06/2018 16:41

I earn around £22,000, what kind of amount should i be able to afford on that? Taking into account other bills etc.

Knightswood isn't too bad. Anniesland also. Close enough to the west end with good transport links also.

@MsMarvel It depends on your outgoings, draw up a budget -

Kinning Park is lovely and undergoing a regeneration just now, walkable distance to city centre, metro links a two minute walk and excellent access to M8 and M77. Can get a lovely flat for your budget. HTH

Have you considered the Southside? Cheaper than west end and there are lots of amenities.Cathcart, Mount Florida, Battlefield, Crosshill, Queens Park are all still very central.

Ive managed to find somewhere in Yoker, well within my budget which is good. I sort of knownthe area, i have family that stay nearby, and its far enough from the area that i want to avoid seeing people in...

For a one bed?

MsMarvel · 16/06/2018 18:41

Its a 2 bed, so will be able to set up a wee office for work stuff.

Will be nice to have a bit of extra space.

Another vote for Kinning Park! My friend lives there and it’s ace. Close to town, there’s an underground and it’s very up and coming.

LoveAtFirstSight · 23/06/2018 17:28

Got the keya to my new place! Needs a bit of a clean but i can get stuff done through the week, and the plan is to be fully moved in by the end of the week! Exciting times....!
