Im in Scotland at at the moment the weather is bad and meant to get worse overnight. How understanding are your employers during weather like this?

I'm NHS & the answer is: not very much! We're expected to be in by 10am or marked absent; but allowed to work from home. Very inflexible, especially given the schools will likely close tomorrow.

DH's employer is fairly understanding, he has an hour drive to work and if it's going to be very bad, he just doesn't go in and works from home. However lots of other people in his organisation have to be there - it's the type of role which just can't be done from home and people have to get in.

I had no choice with my last employer whatever the weather because we were dealing with those affected by the conditions.

Buy shares in a snow plow is my employers response.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and must make it into work regardless of beast from the east.

Must have been the only dickhead driving in from countryside in a crappy car today. Roads and car park empty

DH has to go in regardless!

I work in a school nursery so it's either closed or we attend our local school x

How is being able to work from home unreasonable? I am also NHS and have this option.

Tho the 10 o'clock thing sounds like nonsense jobsworthyness
