Anyone have a discount code, or any ideas for bringing the cost down? Thanks.

I think they used to take Tesco Clubcard vouchers?

MoreProseccoNow · 03/01/2018 16:53

Thanks - unfortunately I don't have vouchers at the moment. Wool look at Tesco website & see if another way of cashing in points.

Tried the scotrail kids go free option too, but it seems to have been discontinued.

You used to be able to order the vouchers on-line but I think they used to take a wee while to come through by post- maybe it's all electronic now? I'm not a Tesco shopper so don't really do them now.

Just had a try online & Tesco don't do the Glasgow science centre. Back to the drawing board....

Och! :(

I've had a bit of trawl and all I can find is that you get 20% off with the city bus tour but that probably ends up costing at least the same, or apparently there is a discount if you arrive later in the day but I don't know when the cut off is - i'll have another look as see if I can find out.

They're notoriously tight with vouchers and codes. The annual membership is usually good value, but obviously depends where you live and how often you'd be visiting.

MoreProseccoNow · 03/01/2018 20:09

Thanks all, just visiting for the day from Edinburgh so not worth the annual membership.

Had a google for voucher codes & it isn't coming up with anything recent (there were Itison's etc from past).

I noticed on the science centre website when purchasing tickets there was an "enter promotional code" section & thought there would be something easy. Wrong!

I found similar. What about the wee one in Dundee and you could combine it with a swim at their pool? I presume you've done Camera Obscura too? The riverside museum is supposed to be good?

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/01/2018 20:15

Then you could do the science stuff at the big science thingy usually at Easter time in Edinburgh?

SciFiFan2015 · 03/01/2018 20:17

It's really good - I don't think you'd get it all done in a day and will want to go back. You can upgrade to an annual membership whilst you are there. We travel through from East Lothian.

On a brighter note, when I was looking at their FB page I spotted some events with I think DS would be interested in

By the "Scotrail Kids Go Free", do you mean the rail tickets where you only pay for the adult? Unless it's changed with the 2018 price rise, I used it last October.

Sometimes it's difficult to find on ticketing sites though - even at the station! You need to know it exists (or have the ticket inspector tell you that's what you should have bought! Shock) though to select it. Hmm

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/01/2018 22:17

kids go free used to be great, unfortunately you can only use it up to age 15 and DSs are too old!

WaxOnFeckOff · 03/01/2018 22:18

I used to buy the ticket on the train instead of using the machine, they did eventually fix our machine to offer it. It's not available on all routes either.
