I'm going with Kezzie for her "I don't like Willie" Grin

Highest popularity ratings in the UK and most trusted politician n Scotland so pretty hard to miss.

I didn't realise that those things (as sad as it makes me feel) confers that she has charisma and a sense of humour.

To be fair she is trustworthy, I trust her completely to put her own interests and those of her party first in preference to doing what is right for the Scottish people as a whole.

StKildasNun · 24/04/2016 16:23

To me it's irrelevant whether they are women or men, I just want someone with honesty, integrity, commitment and a good work ethic who cares and is passionate about doing the best for our country

Can I add -

and has a half ounce of common sense as that is what is sadly lacking in any legislation so far!

StKildasNun · 24/04/2016 16:26

I am abroad and can't watch the link posted above

Can someone tell me, are they all on the BBC website or Youtube? Where is best to see them? (am home next week so will see them then)

StKilda they are on the BBC Scotland Facebook page and some are on other websites such as newspapers etc.

trixymalixy · 24/04/2016 21:10

Kezia's was my favourite which was a surprise to me. I wasn't a big fan of her despite being a labour voter, but I'm warming to her. The Willie line was a classic. Agree with a pp that gash made me wince slightly too.

It's a shame that politics in Scotland is such a cult of personality.

prettybird · 25/04/2016 22:38

Watched the half hour programme (now need to go and watch unabridged interviews with all of them).

I was actually quite disappointed with Patrick Harvie - I though he (even more than Nicola) tried to stay "political" at all times.

Coburn wasn't quite the car crash I was hoping expecting it to be (but it'll be interesting to see the full interview). He is just a buffoon though or bampot Wink with no real policies.

LunaLoveg00d · 25/04/2016 22:47

I'd vote for Gary!

Thought Kezia Dugdale and Ruth Davidson came across very well, Nicola Sturgeon and Willie Rennie too guarded and took themselves too seriously.

FlowerOfTheWest · 25/04/2016 22:52

Really enjoyed that! Agree Kezia and Ruth were good, Willie Rennie seemed a bit bamboozled by it all. And Patrick Harvie has such a great laugh!

Harvey was the worst. Sturgeon was better than I thought she'd be.

HirplesWithHaggis · 26/04/2016 00:00

Rennie gets Brownie points for the "by the power of the LibDems!" bit.

Coburn sending a flirtatious glace at Gary, fucking hilarious! Grin

I think they all did well, but won't be changing my voting intentions. Delighted they all took part. Would love to see a WM equivalent in a few years. :)

HirplesWithHaggis · 26/04/2016 00:03

The unabridged versions are at www.bbc.co.uk/garyelection, don't know if that works abroad and haven't watched myself yet.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/04/2016 00:23

"Can you imagine a world without the SNP?"

SirChenjin · 26/04/2016 19:55

Just watched the whole thing Grin

The 3 women definitely came across better than the men. Patrick is tiny - looks like you could fit him in your pocket and he has a very annoying laugh , Willie Rennie looked terrified during the whole proceedings and David Coburn looked a bit drunk.

Leaving politics aside, I'm going for Ruth - she looks like she'd be able to defend the country singlehandedly with her bare fists and a sharp retort and then stand a round in the pub afterwards, but Kezia with her "not a fan of Willie" (best line of the entire programme) comes in a very close second. Nicola comes in 3rd - still haven't quite forgiven her for all the ills of the world and the death of the baby Jesus, but she was not bad.

That's my take on it too. I now just have to work out how that ballot paper works.

hidingwithwine · 26/04/2016 21:06

I just watched the programme with eldest DS who is voting for the first time next week. I've never really got GTC before but I thought this was ace. I still liked RD best I can't believe it Shock

SirChenjin · 26/04/2016 21:23

Apparently Ruth's popularity has soared recently - whether or not she can translate that into actual votes remains to be seen. If it was down to Garrrreh then she'd ace it imo.

hidingwithwine · 26/04/2016 21:29

Ah SirChenjin we usually think the same way about all things political Winknamechanged earlier

I still don't know how I'm voting next week except not the SNP but I can't see me actually voting Tory Shock

SirChenjin · 26/04/2016 21:37

Oooh - who arrrrrrrre you?? Tell me tell me!! Grin

I'll never vote for the SNP while there's a breath left in my body but I'm not sure who I will vote for. Lefty leanings but with an admiration for Ruth - dilemmas dilemmas. What would Garrreh do I wonder? Hmm

OP posts:
OneMagnumisneverenough · 26/04/2016 21:38

I think RD will get an increase but it wont be enough. There are people (like me) that just can't bring themselves to vote Tory (unless it would definitely oust the SNP I suppose) regardless.

SirChenjin · 26/04/2016 21:43

Oh there's no question - the SNP will get in again on the strength of the '45' pro indy block vote. I suppose it comes down to who would be best in opposition - and whilst I'm not fond of many of the Tory policies (to say the least) I do enjoy watching Ruth wipe the floor with Nicola and holding her to account.

In the words of Garrreh - riddle me this.....

OP posts:
OneMagnumisneverenough · 26/04/2016 21:49

I like that no shits are given by Ruth and Kezia used to be similar, she lost her way a bit but hoping she gets her mojo back. Not that I'm claiming to be einstein here, but NS is coming across as not the sharpest knife in the drawer...but then a one trick pony only needs to know one trick.
