Hiya

my little girl starts school this week we have our honeymoon booked for April next year and she turns 5 in May next year. Are we aloud to take her out as they don’t legally have to be in school till they are 5? And do you get fined ?

thankyou

Technically as she isn't compulsory school aged you can't be fined.

School is highly likely to be grumpy about it though.

Once she starts school she's meant to be in. You will be fined even if she's still 4 as she is in school. It will go down on her attendance plan too but of course you can take them out bit you will be fined. Most schools are quite strict with attendance these days

You will not be fined and schools cannot fine you.
Our school is very strict on attendance.
However, we did it with both our children in reception for holidays.
They are not legally required to start school until the term after their 5th birthday. My first son attended school part time until he turned 5.
I also withdrew my youngest son from the ‘compulsory’ testing in reception as he wasn’t compulsory school age at the time of testing.
