Legoland

Hello helpful people,

We live near Legoland but have not been yet and my 6 year old daughter is desperate to go. But I'm not sure the best way to go about it. There are so many different deals, offers and additional, sneaky extras.

Eg, I have found out it costs extra for parking, the driving anything else?

I've heard the rides have awful queues outside school times. Is there a good queue skip extra?

I want to go with a 6 year old and also 1 and half year old, who wants to walk/run everywhere.

I would say with that age kids the free attractions and shows will be enough anyway. Maybe get a yearly pass if you live that close

when older get a queue pass.

She would love the Lego displays as she loves her own Lego to play with. But she has also heard about driving and wants to go to Legoland for that.

I can't see the one year old queuing happily. But with two parents we could split up for my daughter to go on some rides

If you live close then a Merlin pass could be worth it. So many attractions near to you and you can go early and do the rides, skip the queues at the busiest parts of the day and go and build Lego and then back to the rides at around 4.30

Download the app and it'll show you live queue times and the map so you can work out your route.

Take snacks for the queues and eat lunch in the queues

You do t have to pay for the driving school - but you do have to pay if you want to get the licence afterwards.

Thanks, for the advice, it's so hard as the merlin pass is such a commitment. Especially if we get three l. We'd feel like we have to go out and go to theme parks regularly to make it worthwhile. And as I've not been to Legoland since I was a child I don't know Id be going regularly. Maybe when the baby is 3 or 4 we could... but then we'd need a second merlin pass....if we book the day in Legoland and love it, do you know if we could convert that ticket to an annual pass. Or just get a merlin pass for my daughter and she could go with different adults different times.

Good to know about the driving...I'm not sure my daughter has heard about the licence from friends and be expecting it or we could not mention it.....

The parking is a joke. When you leave all the barriers are open and everyone is just ushered out. No one is checking tickets. So unnecessary.

Bumping this hoping for some more tips. Bought day ticket for the family in the holidays. I'm thinking of getting there as early as possible, 6 year old heading straight to the driving school with dad and I take 1 year old either on the boat ride or duploland, or we slowly walk to driving school from the entrance. The app has terrible recent ratings, including the queue times being way off (10 minutes was actually 1 hour).
