I really want to go away for a weekend in Cornwall. North Coast, like Newquay.

How on earth do you find hotels for 2 babies?

Has anyone stayed in that area and know of any?

As its a weekend in summer holidays most cottages, caravans don't work as they do a long weekend or week, i just want a couple of nights on a weekend around work.

How do you find places? :(

Are you on your own with two dc or are you travelling with a dp? What age are your children- is one old enough to sleep in bed with an adult?

Assuming one infant and one toddler I would assume toddler sleeps in bed with an adult and a cot for the infant. That means you are looking for either two doubles (with a dp) or a king bed in a hotel that can offer cots (most do) or bring your own travel cot.

if you have twins that both need a cot, from experience it can be difficult to get two hotel cots. I have twins, and when travelling with dh we tend to get two rooms and then divide and conquer - would definitely bring a spare travel cot though. Travel with very young children is never going to be that relaxing!

With DH, we have one travel cot at the moment.

They will be 16 months and 3 months.

We just don't get out much at the moment, when the eldest was born she was really ill, so hasnt experienced going out much at all yet, so i just want us all to get some sea air and live a little 😂😂

But no idea how to find a hotel that could cater for this.
I did see a premier inn, but got confused as online to book it says children from age two, but also if we need a cot? So i don't know if that means they could manage or not?

the good places will be booked up by now in cornwall!

Premier inn is a good option with smalls. 4 in a room is quite normal. There will be pull out beds for older children but I’m sure they could provide two cots if you asked.

alternative plan- do you not have a carrycot or similar you could put the youngest in ?

Clearinguptheclutter · 03/03/2024 09:18

Re premier inn I think you technically don’t need a “family room” if your kids are under 2. So they won’t count as “children”. So 2 adults and 1/2 cots. It’s fine, I’ve done it.

from experience It can be difficult to reserve two cots from the hotel - sometimes because of limited capacity and sometimes because ‘not enough room’ which I think is more down to fire code than actually being able to fit. I would reserve a regular room + cot and then bring your carry cot.

For a newborn you could get a little pop up cot that takes up much less space than a full size travel cot

Thank you :) i will call premier inn directly tomorrow. I think it sounds like premier is the best bet, and at least we know there. :) i will look into pop up cot and bring my own.
