Resigning while on maternity leave?

Hi, I just wondered if any body has resigned while on maternity leave and how you went about it? Email, letter or in person?
I'm currently thinking about resigning while on maternity; feels abit cheeky though as I said I was going back and thought I was at the time but circumstances have changed since then. I don't get OMP or anything is I don't have that to worry about at least.

I did this! Partly because I moved area and travel would've been ridiculous and couldn't get transfer. I called to speak to manager about it then emailed my letter in. Best thing I did because my payout was the rest of my mat leave pay which really helped me out because we moved from furnished to unfurnished property. My DC are fine, happy and healthy. They're 1 and 3 now

I'm planning to do this. My boss has left herself so I'm just going to write a letter to HR and make arrangements to pay back whatever I owe.

The commute is too awkward, I need to leave too early for a nursery and a nanny would cost more than my salary.

In the long run when DD is a toddler I'll look for something part time and more local.

This thread really helped me today, I was at crisis point about returning to work.

Thank you, and I hope you’re loving life x
