Reposting due to typo in tittle! 😁

Hi all. I currently live in England (Sussex) and am thinking of relocating to NI.

My OH and I work fully remote and so won’t need to find a job there. I heard that NI is lovely and rural with less built up spaces than a lot of the UK. Also that the pace of life is a slower and people are generally happier.

Has anyone made the move and can perhaps give me some insights? For example, pros and cons and whether people are generally friendly? Thanks in advance.

People are very friendly and want to know all about you :). Good to have a hobby like golf (in NI many folk on the coast plays golf, not elitist), traditional music, local history, hiking/walking. Mainly rural - no extensive "rights of way" foot paths but lots of great hill, coast, walking close to everywhere. Calmer, quieter more spacious than Sussex. Rains more and colder.

Hi I moved from England to a nice village in NI. My husband is from here, we met in England and was together there a few years before moving. I like it here, the people are very friendly and my kids go to a lovely school. It's a great community. Been back to England a few times visiting family but couldn't imagine moving back :)

We moved from Scotland, but DH is originally from England (Sussex actually). I am originally from here and am so glad to be home. My DC feel more at home here than they ever did in Scotland despite all being born there and living there for the first 10-15 years of their lives. DH was the one I was worried about but he has been more welcomed and accepted here than he ever was in Scotland. He loves it here.

For sure it’s a quieter way of life and there are things which are frustrating (paying ridiculous delivery charges for things from RUK, our politicians etc) but the positives massively outweigh the negatives. School system is much better than in England/Wales or Scotland, people are so much more open, and then there’s the traybakes and scones….
