We are soon to be relocating to Shropshire. Currently not tied to jobs or schools (although I am a teacher and DH is in sales). We are drawn to Shrewsbury as we have close family living there and would like to see more of them. Moving with our 8 year old and 6 year old and we all hanker after semi-rural living... so are looking more at the villages south of Shrewsbury like condover, hanwood, dorrington etc
I would love some feedback/advice on 2 things please:
- which villages/hamlets are good for families? Any better than others or all much of a muchness? We really want something where there's lots of beautiful walks, a village hall where the girls can go to brownies that kind of thing
2.How will this work for secondary schools? From what I can see they are mainly in town, are the children likely to get a space in a decent secondary or are children who are out of catchment in the villages left for the less desirable (or requested) secondary schools? Sadly private schools are not viable for us.
Really appreciate any advice or input!
