Thinking of moving to Anglesey

Currently live in Manchester and thinking of moving to a 2/3 bed semi rural property in Anglesey with a max budget of £250,000. Does anyone live in or know the areas of Amlwch or Red Wharfe Bay? Thanks very much.

Not really but drove through Amlwch when we were on holiday and it looked really rough. I loved Anglesey but that was the worst part!

Do you have kids? What is your career?

Most villages on Anglesey look rather rough and unappealing, I think that's mainly due to the odd obsession with pebbledashing, which they do to even the nicest and most expensive houses on the island.

Amlwch is one of the least desirable parts of the island and quite a trek to the nearest big towns for supermarkets etc.

The southern part of Anglesey around Newborough has some stunning beaches, countryside and forest walks, views of the mountains, all whilst still being convenient for access to Llangefni and Bangor for shops, restaurants etc

I live on Anglesey.
Do you have kids and how old are they?
Can you speak Welsh?

The main tourist areas are pretty pricey. Ref wharf Bay, newborough, Benllech, Beaumaris. Lots of holiday homes and limited public transport. As someone said, long drive to decent supermarket.

Larger villages/small towns- Llangefni, Holyhead etc fairly drab and depressing.

I'm live in llanfairpwll (the one with the long name), south side of the island, easy to get to bridge/bangor and has Station which is a godsend for teenagers. Very welsh - you would have to learn.
