Moving to New Brighton

Hi there,
We’re looking to move to New Brighton on the Wirral - we have a 3 year old starting school in Sept 2021. DH prefers West Kirby but the prices are so high! I want to live mortgage free if possible. We currently live near Brighton (down south) and believe we can get £320 for our house. Any comments on areas schools from locals will be really appreciated! Xxx

I dont know that area personally OP. May be worth starting a new thread for opinions on that particular area? We go to Eastham Woods with the dog fairly often, there is a nice tea garden there, but that's the extent of what I know. Hopefully others may know more Smile.

Also Oxton, Noctorum, Prenton, Claughton had a look at some images - all look very pretty!

My DMum lives in Claughton and I grew up there. I wouldnt choose to live there now - lack of stuff to do and proximity to rough parts of Birkenhead. Parts of Oxton are nice, but the nice parts are quite expensive.

@emsyj37 thanks for the info it does look as though Eastham would be a nice place to visit but living there might be quiet! I do like the look of Oxton but I would rather live closer to the sea I think, Vale Park and Grove (Street?) areas and the houses around there look lovely, I think New Brighton is currently my favourite where as DH is looking closer at Hoylake and Meols. Will have to see how we feel after we’ve visited, I hope we can agree!!! Confused

Hi everyone, so we visited the Wirral at the weekend and we loved it! The weather helped but we actually could see ourselves settling there. We much preferred the West Kirby and Hoylake areas, although for me, properties around Vale Park were my favourite. OH is set on Hoylake but we’re coming up again in May and can’t wait to do more exploring. While there we took in the coastal walk, Vale Park, NB prom and a viewing in Wallasey, Grove Road area which was a really lovely property.
