We have just moved house into a new build in the country. Yesterday I found a live mouse in one of the toy buckets and put the whole thing outside 😩 we are very careful to keep the house really clean but this morning we came down to find one of the baby bottles chewed though on both sides of the teat. Can anyone advise how to get rid of the mice quickly?! They seem to be very bold, was a bit of a shock to find it looking back at me for the toy bucket yesterday!

Our house was overran with mice when we moved in. We found out it was the main reason why the previous family left. We tried everything even professional pest control, eventually got a cat and Bless him he cleared the house in a couple of weeks. Have never had any evidence of mice since.

We had mice years ago and I phoned the council pest control department. They will sort it for a few. They used to, anyway.

The guy who came said that they come in through small gaps in the outside building. Eg, we needed to cover an airbrick with a special cover. Also if you are mid Terrace and the houses are joined eg under the floor, then you need to get neighbours to do the same.

Cats don't always work. Mine used to bring the mice in alive to play with and they managed to get away and hide from him. Took me a while to figure that out.
Had traps all over since but we seem to get them only in the autumn when it gets cold.
