Hello you lovely lot. We are planning a move from Wandsworth london to farnham royal. We have a nearly 4 year old and a nearly 2 year old. We have found a lovely house but I'm move that worries about meeting some like minded families and building a life in the country. Has anyone got some thoughts on 1. The area (we are not stuck on that area but keen to take advantage of the crossrail as husband needs to commute to l.street). 2. Have you done similar move and how easy was it it meet people?
3.nearby primary schools? Think of sending them to dair school. Any parents who have had experience of there?

Thanks in advance for any wisdom before we take the plunge before we make an offer.

We left London (Fulham) and were looking around that area but the aircraft noise put us off, after living in Fulham under LHR flight path we were worried after the new runway is built it would get a lot worse.
We ended up buying near Marlow and it's the best thing we did leaving London, we wake up to deer and pheasants in our garden, the only wildlife we saw in London was a fox or a rat.

Sorry just seen this, my partner commutes he has a scooter he gets to High Wycombe station then the train and tube, it's a longer commute than what he used to have but then the house is worth travelling a bit more for. If you both commute maybe look around Bourne End and Cookham as you can go to Maidenhead which is faster and will be part of Crossrail.

We've been here nearly a month now and lots for my 2 year old to do, playgroups, dance class, gym class and we've just found her a lovely village pre school for 2 mornings a week, half the price of a London nursery.
