Hiya 😊

I have a daughter currently age 7 and we are looking to move just outside of London within the next two years....So I am currently just looking for ideas.🤔

I want my daughter to grow up in an area where it won't be " spot the black girl " but where the secondary school are decent and the crime rates are lower than inner city London. We are mainly considering Hertfordshire because we have family in North London and want to be close to them.

Just to add we are looking to do a Home Swap and we are open to ideas..... any help would be much appreciated Smile

Thank you in advance!!

I would suggest Hayes/Northolt.

Uxbridge/Ickenham were lovely to live in when we were there 2 years ago. I'd move back In a heartbeat if it wasn't for work and elderly parents!

3ChangingForNow · 23/09/2018 03:41

I love Uxbridge, too!

Heratnumber7 · 23/09/2018 03:45

Probably too far for you but North Wiltshire is on the M4, so an hour from London, and has one of the lowest crime rates in the country.
Multi cultural enough I think for what you're looking fir.

Thank you for all the suggestions so far will note them all down and take a closer look!!! Smile
London has just become so congested, expensive and the violence is getting beyond a joke!

Be nice to see some greenery and wake up in nicer surroundings!!!!

Another vote for Uxbridge - we left four years ago due to a work move and had only lived there for two years, but we loved it. I still miss it which is weird as I come from very rural Herefordshire! My DC's, who were all in their early teens when we lived there still reminisce about it and youngest DD has mentioned going to Brunel Uni which is in Uxbridge.

PetVA · 24/09/2018 18:44

Uxbridge seems like the way forward Smile

South Woodford, Wanstead, Woodford Green, North Chingford

Take a look!

samlovesdilys · 04/10/2018 21:42

North wiltshire IS totally lovely, but there is no way it's small towns could be described as 'multi-cultural' sorry! Maybe Swindon...but that doesn't really tick your other requirements!

Heratnumber7 · 06/10/2018 08:38

I disagree.
North Wilts has a big population of Poles, Italians, Czechs, Nigerians, Irish, East Europeans in general, Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis.....
They don't all live in Swindon.

Watford! Ticks all of your boxes. St Albans or Tring or Harpenden tick quite a few of your boxes but are pricier. What’s your budget? How do you arrange a (permanent?) house swap?
