Rural property websites

Hi, does anyone know of any good rural property websites to look at? We specifically want properties away from towns, villages and, preferably, other people 😁 The more remote, the better!
Are there any estate agents that would focus on that kind of buyer?

I think you would need to have a vague idea of area first as I'm not aware of a 'rural rightmove' type set up, but if you have a rough idea of area, some larger livestock auction marts have a property division these days which would be a good place to start looking as it's where a lot of the rural/agricultural type properties could be marketed.

Other than that, locally I would be able to tell you which estate agents are more likely to have the rural properties on their books. So if you have an area in mind asking round the local area Facebook pages (or on mumsnet!) would probably come up trumps.

I suppose you could also try the classifieds of publications like farmers guardian, horse and hound etc.

What is your price range? Humberts in Lincolnshire often have a lovely selection. Also Strutt and Parker. But it is all on rightmove. In your place I would just use the map function on rightmive

Around £200k. Had a look on Rightmove but most had very close neighbors. Think we will just have to look across multiple websites and listings

Ooof I suspect that's going to be quite a tight budget for the type of property you are wanting.

Don't rule out properties that look like they have close neighbours without going to have a look first. The cottage 'next door' to us would probably look too close on a map but realistically due to the age and siting of the properties they may as well be 4 miles apart - which is how far away anyone else is from the two properties. It's been a few months since anyone was living there (it's up for sale but well out of your search area) but we never saw/heard the last occupants anyway so haven't noticed a difference.

Sadly no one stays much longer than a couple of winters because of how rural it is. The rural 'idyll' is not always what people expect it to be Grin

Thanks all 😊 just looking at the moment but good to get some advice. We're both from the countryside and moved to cities to work, so eventually want to get back to rural living 😁

Rural Scene is a good one.
Ukland and farms.

I'm too stupid to link when on my phone but good old Google will lead you to them.
