Where to live in or around Chester?

Hi everyone!

Me and my other half are wanting to buy a house in or around Chester but we're not sure where would be best?

We want to live in the nicest part, I'd pay extra not to live in a rough area. We want somewhere rural or with a good amount of countryside but with easy access to shops, the pub, good transport links etc.

I don't want to be too far from Chester but I wouldn't mind living around Crewe either... We're wanting to be within the catchment area for good primary and secondary schools too.

We're also wanting to buy a house which is currently in development, we looked at Redrow, David Wilson Homes, Anwyl homes etc. but not sure who are recommended and who aren't!

I'd be so grateful for any advice - we want to live in Chester for the rest of our lives and start a family in our new home :)

Thank You!

Thank you for the kind advice everyone,

@needgalaxyminstrelsnow I loved living in North Wales lol but always had a thing for Chester as well - I'm really glad we've been able to meet in the middle

Definitely going to have a look about before I decide on where to live but everyone's advice has helped so much!

Thank you xx

stole are you my friend? Love your humour.

Figure out what A road you want to be on and pick a village. Generally speaking the further out you go the cheaper the housing. Crewe is a good half hour from Chester so ny what I would call close. Helsby high has gone to to dogs from what I've heard from friends with DC in the school.

Tarporley is lovely. My mum lives there. Very small village but has all amenities and excellent schools

@Notavictimbutasurvivor my son goes there and I have taught at three other local schools - believe me it is one of the best

Thank you so much for the advice!!

Hoping to look around the villages and everything before making a decision, the sooner the better
