Relocating from Norfolk to Yorkshire!

Hello! I am possibly moving from my homeland Norfolk to Yorkshire with my partners job, I'm freaking out a little as I've never moved from here before!! & with 2 littles it's even more important to find the right area. Any Yorkshire experts out there? We need to be within 30 ish miles of Normanton which is where his job will be, I don't want to be too isolated but don't necessarily want the hustle and bustle of a massive town, it's really important tho that I make some friends and get involved in a community & also my boy will be starting school next year so need a lovely primary school too... Too much to ask?!?! Thanks xx

If near Holmfirth, are you sure you don't mean Netherthong?

Hopping Wakey Netherton is between Horbury Bridge and West Bretton. Kind of up the hill beteeen the mining museum and sculpture park.

That'll be Huddersfield Netherton. Nice place. Really nice park (Beaumont Park). Not far from me, always loads of stuff going on in Hudds. Welcome to Kirklees!

Quite rural farming country up there but coming from Norfolk I'm sure you will be ok with that. Nice farm shop too
How long would it take to Wakey though? Think it wouid have to get through town which can be busy

Husband was brought up in Norfolk and moved to Wakey aged 18. He said there's a good reason houses are cheap in Horbury! He recommends Newmillerdam and Walton outside Wakefield (very easy to get to Normanton). We visit his mum over that way a lot and there are some great places to go for days out. Also agree that Denby Dale and surroundings are a lovely area, Bretton also very nice.
