Part time jobs

I'm retiring at the end of the year as my job is very physically demanding. I'm on my feet 16 hours a day and feel I can no longer give it my all. I'm 63 and self employed.
What kind of part time jobs are out there for people my age?

My local Tesco seems to employee lots of older part time ladies.

as does M&S.

I value my part time job being close to home, so work in a pharmacy 10min walk from home... 4 hour shifts. I do 3 a week. Some do 4, 6, 8. I work on the counter as I like to talk, some work out back dispensing.

Sweet little job for this part time pensioner.

If you have screen skills, talk to local marketing agencies about copy writing, proof reading, data entry etc.

TimeWise Jobs lists part-time and flexible roles

Also your local council may have a listing for local jobs, some of which may well be part-time.

The Government's 'Find A Job' listing is massive (over 200,000 jobs listed there at time of writing) but you can filter by location and part-time-ness with the bits on the left (part-time option is right at the bottom of the page) https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/search

If you're anywhere near a hospital..join the NHS Bank. I left banking in 2018 and have been doing two or three days a week admin stuff for the NHS since.

B&Q, Tesco and all the major retailers I have seen employees that are past retirement age. I know many companies encourage a diverse workforce and you know they are going to be reliable.
An ex colleague retired from their teaching job about 5 years ago - they work 16 hours a week on the checkouts at Tesco - even if you don’t need the money, it gets you out the house meeting people.
