Civil Service Pensions Alpha and Premium different retirement ages

I have been going round in circles on this. I have 16 years in old Civil Service Premium pension (final salary) to 2015. Retirement age 60. Now in Alpha - retirement age state pension age. Online calculator for retirement age is showing both parts together.
Does any know if can stop work at say 60, claim Premium element only and defer Alpha to state pension age to get the unreduced amount?
Do both parts have to be taken at same time?

I know McCloud judgement will make a difference and other option to consider.

I believe you can, yes. But I'm a random on the internet so I would check it out with someone who definitely knows.

@Starface Thanks. Will investigate with CS pensions!
It isn't clear. I am sure I was at a talk at Civil Service Live where they said all at the same time but can't find anything in the extensive literature.

In fact, I think you can take your classic and carry on working (but you can't exceed you final salary in total remuneration ie pension + wage) and you might be able to continue building up Alpha. Is there somewhere you can ask?

@Starface yes, sounds like partial retirement which is well documented. I prefer the idea of total retirement Smile.

They must have a helpdesk that I can ask. Just wanted a quicker answer!
