Did anyone else see this yesterday? I've been searching the threads, and I can't find any mention of it. Hilarious. Especially the references to Pirate Sex www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article7069748.ece

vandubby, yes I saw that.

Just shows there wasn't too much to write about the weekend, or it takes a bit of the flak off of Gordon Brown.

Why do the papers(well the Sunday Times) have a problem with adults writing or talking about adult things? Hardly planning a coup or other dastardly deeds, but I suppose if they shout about it good old Gordy(no I don't really think he is good, more a waste of space) will tax it.!!

FabIsGettingThere · 22/03/2010 19:01

There are at least 2 other threads on this subject. Seems all the papers are reporting it.

GrimmaTheNome · 22/03/2010 19:04

One imagines there are going to be a lot of voyeurs joining for a lurk on Friday.

Please can everyone agree to discuss nothing sexual at all for one night to disappoint them and make them go away?

THough there could be a nice line in interesting-sounding thread titles which turn out to be about cake making or suchlike.

flabbymummyof2climbingboys · 22/03/2010 22:07

haha - they have mentioned the sex tenchnics thread. even the mention of it makes me giggle.

OrmRenewed · 22/03/2010 22:10

" But critics feel the banter threatens to tarnish the site?s wholesome image "

What wholesome image is that then?

MiniTenrec · 23/03/2010 13:35

probably because a child might read it while surfing?

Whippet · 23/03/2010 13:38

all these meeja articles are becoming a bit now, non?

I reckon Justine & Co must be gearing themselves up to sell (pushing the awareness rating and clicks & all that....)

really

FalafelAtYourFeet · 23/03/2010 13:38

Why are they all reporting it now though? its not as if any of the threads they refer to are recent ones- pirate sex was about five years ago! Hardly news!

AMumInScotland · 23/03/2010 13:46

Why is enjoying sex considered to not go with a "wholesome image" (as if we had one of those in the first case anyway...)? Everyone on here is an adult - it is a site for parents not children - and it's actually a good thing for children if their parents have a mutually-satisfying sex life, as their relationship is likely ot be better than if they are unhappy in that department.

The fact that a child could read it is a red herring. A child surfing the internet will find far worse than that, which is why they should always be supervised on the internet.

I think it's just daft how the press have to go from "they're all middle-class Boden wearers" to "Eww, they think about SEX, how disgusting"

ItsGraceAgain · 23/03/2010 14:12

But, goodness, Boden wearers don't have sex do they?

OrmRenewed · 23/03/2010 14:45

Course they don't grace. It's just an ugly rumour. You've seen the people in the catalogue. Do they look as if they've ever done anything inelegant and messy? Tsk.

Anniegetyourgun · 24/03/2010 12:20

Maybe they haven't quite realised how it is that we became parents in the first place.

bossyboop · 29/03/2010 21:11

I read about it in the daily star after that I joined the site haha! If it was all about swapping recipes I wouldnt have bothered looking. Why do we have to be all mumsy? Its 2010, women talking about sex - shocking! All the mums websites Ive looked at are the same, only I like this one the best as its real women talking about real issues and i love it!
